The American Dollar - The Technicolour Sleep

Yesh Music – 2007

"Summer of War" Has the drum/cymbal building sound that is quite often used in post-rock music.  I'm not saying it's bad but it's a common approach within this genre of music.

The second track "Rudiments of A Spiritual Life" is contemplative.

"The Technicolour Sleep" is one of my favorites songs off this album.  Great sound of the piano/keyboard bouncing with echo and then the soft piano/keyboard line applies just the right touch.  Guitar coming in adds to the overall sound dimension.  The end of the track has a spiritual feel.

"Tonight Lets Make Love In London" has a real playfulness to it.  I could actually visualize it with the video of children playing.  It's got a youth exuberance to it.

The tempo change in "Daytrip" worked for me.  The keys and organ provide nice chemistry of sound.

A dream quality is captured in "The Swamp."

There is real dramatic flair to "DEA."  The building up an payoff has high emotion to how it plays.

"Palestine" almost feels live.  The sound is almost a mix of new age and jazz.  Pretty cool stuff.

Another chapter in this bands ever-growing list of accomplishments.
