Childs Play - Music by Joe Renzetti

La-La Land Records – 2009

From the first track "Opening Chase (Main Titles)" Joe Renzetti wastes no time getting into the dark, twisted world of CHILD'S PLAY.

CHILD'S PLAY may be about a kid's toy coming to life but this score is no laughing matter.  Filled with grumbling low keyboards, all sorts of metallic hits and gloomy organ playing, it's serious stuff.

The thing that strikes me the most is how relentless the music is in this score.  Think of a top fuel dragster going full throttle but spread out over sixty-four minutes.  There's no let up of intensity until the eleventh cue "Goodbye Chucky/Child's Play End Credits."  The three bonus tracks are also a break from the rest of the score which include; "News Cast," "End Credits w/o vocal" and "The Chucky Song" performed y Simon Stokes, which was not used in the film.

La-La Lands Records has put out another gem with this CD.  You get a track by track breakdown of where each cue was used in the film and wonderfully written Linear Notes by Brian Satterwhite.

CHILD'S PLAY would be a great addition to anyone's music collection.
