This CD features very mature, poignant composition that has deep emotion within every song.
This is one of those CDs I take as a whole rather than track by track. This is because it’s all done with such integrity and personal embrace.
A Day Within Days is very warm and soothing. I actually found the CD very tranquil. It has what I’d call a meditative touch. I almost fell asleep listening to it, not because it’s boring but rather it put me at ease.
Not very composer or musician has this kind of ability so I’ve got to hand it to Michael Allison the man who wrote, performed, recorded and produced this album.
A Day Within Days is dedicated to his lifelong friendship with fellow artist and musician Juan Maciel, a.k.a. Naux who passed away in 2009. With that in mind this is a moving tribute that should make his friend smile.
