Seth Rogen

A rich spoiled brat Britt Reid (Seth Roge
n) who slacks during the day and parties all night inherits his dad's (Tom Wilkinson) fortune.  Without direction and bored with his life Britt ends up getting a spark to become crime fighter, after he saves a couple from getting attacked by a gang with the help of his father's mechanic Kato (Jay Chou).

Britt begins this strange friendship with Kato as the two guys couldn't be more different.  Somehow they mesh together with Britt providing the money to fund all the gadgets Kato can create to help their cause.

To tell you the truth, I expected this movie to be kind of silly without much thought behind it.  I was surprised at how entertaining GREEN HORNET is.  Director Michel Gondry brings just enough of his idiosychricies too give GREEN HORNET a unique feel for a super hero movie starring Seth Rogen.

Michel Gondry supplies real zaniness and invents some visual aspects to the story telling flow and action that make GREEN HORNET flourish.  Gondry also helps coax the cast to bring life to their respective roles.

Seth Rogen is well...Seth Rogen.  The curly haired actor seems slimmed down but the guy who steals the show is Jay Chou, who plays the sidekick Kato.  The character is written as super intelligent, creative and physically superior to everyone else in the film.  Chou pulls off the role with charisma and I wouldn't be surprised if it jettisons him into more films.

Cameron Diaz is very good as the smart and savvy Lenore Case.  Diaz plays her with the right balance of humor and is believable as a professional newspaper woman.

I also like the casting of Christoph Walz as the villain Benjamin Chudnofsky / Bloodnofsky, who has a little bit of a Napoleon complex and is superb in the role.

Like all Sony Blu-rays, GREEN HORNET looks spectacular.  This particular release is a 3 for 1, meaning it comes with Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD as a combo pack.  The sound quality is terrific with music, songs and sound FX mixed to perfection.

GREEN HORNET is loaded a bunch of special features which include: "Awesoom" - Gag Reel, Deleted Scenes, Writing The Green Hornet, Commentary, Finding Kato, The Green Hornet Cutting Room, The Black Beauty: Rebirth of Cool, Trust Me: Director Michel Gondry, The Stunt Family Armstrong and The Art of Destruction.

GREEN HORNET is a big surprise that would give you more than you'd possibly expect and then some.
