Review by Michael Knight A band of young rebel
delinquents are assigned community service at a California National Park.
As they arrive at the ranger headquarters there is a radio news report
about an escaped killer from a nearby psychiatric hospital. The group of
young thugs begin their trek through wilderness and forest, cleaning paths
and camps as they go. Under command of Ranger Bob (Glenn Morshower)
important facts and info are learned (usually the hard way) about their
new environment. The young crew quickly go from service to survival mode
as the escaped killer begins to stalk and dispatch both rangers and
members of the group in bloody, murderous fashion. However, he is not the
only predator that has laid claim to this territory. He will be no match
for the Grizzly that has been agitated by the disturbances. There are some
spectacular natural scenic views in moments of this movie that are worth a
mention. For the horror fans there are some great FX including: The
decapitation of a crew member by a swat of the giant Grizzly’s paw and
the half body of a young lady mauled by the bear, who desperately tries to
pull herself to safety trailing bloody entrails in her wake. Glenn
Morshower plays a convincing part as Ranger Bob, dealing out park
facts and wilderness know-how at opportune moments. Emily Foxler, who
plays Bebe, is amusing as the dim-witted minx with whom trouble seems to
follow at every step. | ||
