When you read I Am Ozzy,
it's as if The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne himself, is speaking
directly to you, in a down to earth manner. I Am Ozzy is an
addiction!
John
Michael Osbourne was born to a working class family outside of
Birmingham, England in 1948. The first son of six children, and living
in squalor, he soon learned the ways of street delinquency. A poor
student, a failed plumber apprentice, a slaughterhouse laborer-turned
burglar, young Osbourne soon wound up in prison, with no future
direction in his dead end life.
Bear witness to the rise of Black Sabbath, as the gateway to heavy metal as we've come to know it today was cut and burned open. Their music, their debauchery, their everything, made them the legends that they are. Read on, as chronologically, Sabbath's career sped on, and ground to a halt. Some real funny, and scary stories happened in his life, as his alcohol and drug usage spiral out of control. My favorite recollection was of the 1972 Vol. 4 sessions: What they thought was a drug raid, and having to snort all the coke off of the floor:+ The 1980's brought about a new chapter in The Ozzman's life. Randy Rhoads, a new band, a new wife, more kids, and a new life. Just like with his years fronting Black Sabbath, Ozzy's solo career, from the bloodletting days of Blizzard Of Ozz, and Diary Of A Madman, to the present, are laid out on the table, bearing all! You might laugh, cringe, and cry, sometimes all at once! One thing you won't be able to do, is put this book down so easily! Interesting things about the man are that he is a firearms enthusiast, and after all the abuse he's put himself through, he's intelligent enough to realize, that as a guest, living in America, and for the way we welcome him as a hero, he stays away from politics! People who come from working class bloodlines, always have determination. They carry with them, the application of hard work and determination, together inseparable, remain unstoppable. In this autobiography of a heavy metal king, you will simply feel the wit and wisdom from his era, instilled into the man's blood, and poured out into everything he's ever accomplished with success. Almost no back story is left untold, from his parents scuffles, to the Arden family wars, and his legendary battles to stay clean and sober, to the near death experience of late; ALL recalled in amazing detail. I read this book in three consecutive nights. I think you'll do something similar, page after page! Ozzy Osbourne spills his own personal blood and guts for your reading pleasure! As with Elvis, one name says it all. There can only be one Ozzy! | ||
