This is easily one of the best DVDs of it's kind. FLIGHT 666: THE FILM is a sensational 2-DVD package that tells the incredible story of Iron Maiden's spectacular world tour that took them all the way across the globe in 24 days. Front man Bruce Dickinson piloted the 757 jet that carried the band, crew and all of their equipment. This has to be a first in the music business. Considering the distance traveled, 50,000 miles, the different time zones and the amount of energy it took to do the shows, this is an astonishing feat.
Co-Director Scott McFayden creates another stunning documentary on the heels of his terrific METAL: A HEADBANGERS JOURNEY and GLOBAL METAL. The other Co-Director Sam Dunn helps capture a staggering volume of footage captured from an assortment of cameras, including breathtaking aerial footage of the painted Iron Maiden Plane 666.
At the beginning of each place the band plays, we see a graphic of the globe with an animated jet flying to each destination. Then the actual footage of EdForceOne (Iron Maiden's jet), the plane landing, the reception at each airport, and final onto the hotel and each concert. Meanwhile between each show we see how the band members enjoy their time off, playing golf soccer and sight seeing. In this way we get to know a little about each band member and the places they visit. To put it bluntly, Iron Maiden has tons of fans all over the world that are absolutely fanatic about the band. The Second DVD features the entire concert set list, each song coming from a different city. The quality of the visual image on this DVD is outstanding. You'll love it even more if you have an HD TV and/or Surround Sound. My suggestion would be to slip this into your DVD player and turn up the volume.
