Katie Campbell's vocals in this rendition of “I Wanna Do Bad Things With You,” the song used during the opening credits of HBO’s True Blood feels natural and easy to like.
Tommy Morgan & Dominik Hauser's instrumental version of “I Wanna Do Bad Things To You” is almost like the one used on the show. Harmonica takes over for the vocals, the little clicking percussion is fun and the song has a pretty nifty steady drum beat.
Lisbeth Scott's piano leads “Love Theme From True Blood“ into romance and drama at the same time. The strings on the bottom of the mix give a needed fullness. I do like the understated end of the track.
Joohyun Park's alternate version of the previous track is more percussion based and used more orchestral elements. The middle part almost sounds patriotic.
“Goodbye, Godric" obviously represents a struggle for a character, through once the modern percussion comes in it has a cool groove (almost chill out or ambient dance feel). The sound mix in this tune is exquisite.
This short EP album is fun and performed on an a high musical level.
I recommend it.
