"Spacer Woman From Mars" is a cool ambient mix featuring Sally Shapiro. For some reason, "Amylium Casparium" reminds me a little of Jonathan Ellis' score for the 80's movie VAMP. Speaking of the 80s, "Underworld Mumble 1" has a layered keyboard feel of Tangerine Dream (will call TD in the rest of this review). The drums in particular. You cold easily think Yanni is performing "The Stones Are Blasted." The keyboard tones in "Swimming Through The Blue Lagoon" sounds a lot like the Underwater Sunlight album from TD. "Zero Gravitation" would be ideal to listen to while riding on a train across the countryside. The tune moves and would help fuel your mind, while you were traveling. As I'm listening to "Take Me Home," which has a little darker tint, it reminds me of he score for Kathryn Bigelow's NEAR DARK. That vampire Western was of course scored by TD. I love the John Carpenter like keyboard in "The Chameleon." The short punctuating notes are done in a similar way Carpenter scored his very underrated score for HALLOWEEN III. It wouldn't be hard to recall Tom Cruise & Rebecca De Mornay's love scene on the train in RISKY BUSINESS while listening to "Last Train To Comet Square." There's a bonus track called "Siberian Train" which goes along with sort of a theme already mentioned in some of the previous tracks. The Mountain Lake is a pretty subdued ambient album that is rooted heavily in some of the electronic sounds of the 80s. Whether that is intentional or not, I'm not sure. I will say that bygone era in some ways was better than today.
