"Heaven Will Unleash Hell On
Earth" is this movie's tagline.
At a remote desert truck stop
forces of good and evil clash as the fate of the world is
decided. A group of strangers are forced to draw the line
and protect a pregnant waitress from a dark angel who's come down
from the heavens to destroy her unborn child. Think of DUEL
crossed with THE TERMINATOR.
I really enjoyed the movie because
Scott Stewart keeps the action going, the acting is quite good
with Paul Bettany pulling off the understated, yet physical
impressive angel on a mission. Dennis Quaid & Lucas
Black ground their characters in realism. Tyrese Gibson is
his normal macho self. Adrienne Palicki has beautiful bronze
skin and does a good job as the unsuspecting
waitress/mother-to-be. I thought Kate Walsh's performance
was a bit forced and seemed out of place.
LEGION is an awesome looking
Blu-ray that startles the senses of viewership. The rich
picture and dynamic sound will keep entertained for approximately
100 minutes.
Three comprehensive Special
Features tell much about the visual effects and cast of this
movie; Creating the Apocalypse - Behind the Physical
Effects, Humanity's Last Line of Defense - The Cast and
Characters and From Pixels to Picture - A look at the
Visual Effects.
But for me the real standout
inclusion is the Blu-ray Exclusive Bringing Angels to Earth:
Picture-in-Picture which is a startling way to watch the movie
while in the right corner interviews with cast & crew,
storyboards, behind the scenes footage play for the movie's
duration. If that isn't enough you also get movieIQ+sync
and BD-Live which allows you to connect to real-time information
on the cast, music, trivia while watching the movie. Plus
you get a Digital Copy of the film.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
has rolled out another gem and done their job to give you an
outstanding Blu-ray disc that shows off all the qualities the
format can give.
