Mirrors 2 - Music by Frederik Wiedmann La-La Land Records –
2010 | |
|
Frederik Wiedmann has composed music fitting for a horror film. Creepy string work creates much of the tension that runs just over fifty-one minutes. The snarling brass and hit point percussion all works, especially when tied to the movie, I'm sure (I haven't seen the film yet). I do think the music doesn't really have a true identity because there are an awful lot of scores that sound close to MIRRORS 2. But if you don't listen to as much horror film music as I do, this score will be even better. My favorite track off the disc is "Mirrors II" This last track rounds up all the score's elements and puts it altogether in one four-minute cue. The spooky stuff gets meshed with the emotional character themes all in one fell swoop. I do like that La-La Land does their usual terrific job with a very nice linear note booklet filled with photos from the movie and this soundtrack does have twenty-six music cues. So the equality of the presentation, length of the score and the sound of the music itself is outstanding. | ||
