Resident Evil: Afterlife Blu-ray Sony Pictures Home Entertainment - 2010

The best way to describe the story is take the most memorable elements of the entire series, blend them together. Alice (Milla Jovovich) becomes human again she flees the undead masses created by the T-Virus. She joins together with prisoners from an abandoned prison to try and seek refuge at "Arcadia." But Albert Wesker and the Umbrella Corporation will try to stop her dead in her tracks. There are some standout scenes that will leave an impression such as; when Alice flies up north to find the field full of vacant airplanes with nobody around. Claire Redfield's (Ali Larter) water drenched fight with the SILENT HILL-like executioner and the rooftop airplane escape scene on the Los Angeles skyscraper with thousands of undead waiting below. Supplements include: Undead Vision Picture-in-Picture which combines the best of all behind the scenes stuff by using interviews, pre-vis storyboards and behind the scenes footage injected at the bottom right corner of the frame, while the movie plays. Commentary with Writer/Director Paul W.S. Anderson, Producer Jeremy Bolt and Producer Robert Kulzer is a great way to learn the most important production details given with passion and professionalism by all three guys. Anderson says that when the last movie ended he felt Alice character had become invincible, which would take away any tension in the new movie because she couldn't be beat. Because of this he decided to take away her powers and make her human again. The info these three guys give is also not exactly the same as the featurettes so it's worth listening to. There is six Deleted Scenes and three Extended Scenes. There is about five minutes of Outtakes which show the crew a lighter moments, where cast get the giggles and can't keep a straight face. There are also 5 Behind-the Scenes Featurettes. There is also Sneak Peek of Resident Evil: Damnation. The RESIDENT EVIL series has been very consistent in terms of high level production quality & stellar presentation on DVD and now Blu-ray. I do recommend seeing this for sure and adding AFTERLIFE to your Blu-ray collection.
