Terraambient - Wanderlust

Lotuspike - 2009

Seven tracks make up this CD, which runs 51 minutes in length.  Jeff Kowai writes, produces and performs with an epic sound.

"Myth" has a rich heritage planted within.  I can't help but think of the southwest and in particular the American Indian, while it plays.

Their is a playfulness about "Mudfoot" that makes it fun.

The instrumentation in the title track "Wanderlust," particularly the sound of the low horn and percussion is steeped with Native American character.

"Mammoth" could be the background music for a museum supporting all things natural and good.  The popping percussion beat that stands over the mix brings vitality.

A haze of ambience hangs over "Epilogue" like dark clouds before a storm.

The last track "The Ghost In Me" has some tender interplay between piano and guitar

Wanderlust is a real interesting CD that takes you back to our native land.  It will probably make you think of some of our scenic wonders and the relationship we have with the land we live in.
