Now add orchestral music to this scene that is a couple handfuls Danny Elfman, with a pinch of Bernard Herrmann and James Newton Howard. Douglas Pipes score for this anthology (which I haven't seen yet) is a horror score with action elements. It's sounds as though the movie is meant to spook you a little but ultimately give you a good time and entertain you. Pipes score accomplishes this as he keeps you on your toes mixing up beautiful sweeping classical movie themes with horror stingers and pulse pounding adrenaline fueled action composition. The voice work with orchestra is Elfmanish. "The Halloween Schoolbus Massacre" is one of the coolest tracks off the disc. It reminded me as a cross between Pino Donaggio and Bernard Herrmann. The CD is loaded with 59 minutes and 19 seconds of atmospheric music that would fit beautifully in your stereo this Halloween. If you want to enjoy this holiday to the fullest, I'd get the TRICK 'R TREAT soundtrack to help you accomplish it.
