| Big, ambient waves
roll in to take you out of the pressure and stress of everyday life. This begins from the
first few seconds of "Garden of the Divine" to the last track
"Entropy." As I was listening to "Garden of the Divine," if you
actually take the time to listen and absorb the music, I felt as though my mind had been
lifted up into the sky and I subconsciously floated across the world. With music like
this, the little changes become big and over the course of eighteen minutes, I mentally
traveled to quite a few places. This has nothing to do with meditation or being physic. It
is when you actually listen to the music and let it do what it will to you. The best part
is that it puts you at peace and gives you a true sense of calm. "Surreptitious Ritual" has a darker somberness floating over it, which I loved. For almost fifteen minutes Stefan Jönsson creates a massive layer of fog that is both mysterious and serene at the same time. For the fourteen and a half minutes of "Forested Veins," Jönsson composes fluctuating waves that come in different intervals. The overall effect felt like a mixture of Jean Michel Jarre with Tangerine Dream. The last track "Entropy" runs almost nine minutes and is like having a blanket of atmosphere pulled over you head. It is a good finishing touch from this young Swedish composer. |
