Review by Mike Porciello
Glenn Evans, drummer of 1980's thrash pioneers Nuclear Assault, delivers a
sonic boom on his debut "Attitude". Handling vocal duties, as
well as drums, bass, and rhythm guitar, Evans treats us to some pretty
impressive work.
Starting off with "Ace In The Hole", this album immediately
fires on all cylinders, driving home an upbeat tempo throughout, and
expanding the boundaries of thrash, even incorporating power metal, and
small doses of funk. Dave Dipietro, and fellow Nuclear Assaultist Anthony
Bramante burn up the fret boards on lead guitar, on this 2004 re-issue of
Evans' 1992 album. Without a doubt, "Attitude" brings back the
days of longing for the school bell to finally ring, and signal a weekend!
It reminds me of the type of music that I would hear cranked up to ear
splitting volume from my friend Jimmy Gill's older brother John's room on
a Friday afternoon; a room you dared not enter, but just listened to.
Nuclear Assault, CIA,
Warrior Soul, Monster Magnet, Overkill, just to name a few of the sounds
in which I heard; those sounds molding a part of the shape of my musical
choices to come, and STAY!
A must have for the quintessential Nuclear Assault fan, an album worth
downloading for those of you,(like myself) who crave that certain bang,
yet continue to expand upon horizons. Let's hope Nuclear Assault can keep
it together, shall we? It's always good to hear an 80's band who updates
their sound! Check out "Pull The Trigger"!
