Curse of the Komodo - Music by Neal Acree
Promotional – 2004

During the first cue, "Isla Damas" you can feel the awesome power of the Komodo Dragon. Neal Acree infuses the size and strength of the large reptile with strikes from the orchestra and dramatic percussion. With the rounding, circling melody of "Komodo" Acree also is able to represent the island or location the film takes place. Just by listening to his score you know it takes place in a far away tropical land that is beautiful as it is dangerous.

Acree expertly juggles the story elements that are "Casino Heist." The back and forth between creative percussion and orchestra will have you grooving right along with it. Acree had me glued listening to "The Legend." I couldn’t help but ask myself, why this composer hasn’t been ushered into Hollywood while "The Trek" played. The minute of "The Waterfall" shows Acree’s sensitive side.

Neal Acree does his part to make you "Run Like Hell." The way this eighth track plays I cannot help but compare Acree’s swift, precise composition to James Newton Howard. The dark ominous voices in this cue are really cool and I enjoyed getting swept up in the frantic percussion.
