The Exorcism of
Emily Rose Music by Christopher Young Lakeshore Records 2005 |
|
| THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE was the best horror
film released in 2005. Christopher Young has a long history of scoring horror films. I
could confidently say this is the pinnacle of his career. The soundtrack is quietly disturbing with fat-bottomed notes and eerie child-like voices that crawl under your skin rather than jump out and say, "boo". Young takes us from inside the courtroom all the way to the locale of the chilling events of Ms Roses demise. Like the movie, when youre listening to this CD, it will make you ponder the existence of demon possession. You will think back to the film and recall its unnerving power. Christopher Young uses the orchestra to attack our senses in the first, second and third possessions, but the best moments of the film are the more subdued instances. You absolutely must have this CD if youre any bit serious about orchestral film soundtracks. Its an utter masterpiece of terror. Get it. Seriously, go. |
