This book documents The Making of FANTASTIC 4. As with other books of this type, you get text describing how the movie was made. You learn about some of the problems the cast and crew experienced during filming in Vancouver, Canada. You see behind the scenes photos as well as shots from the movie.

I liked the focus on the main characters and learning about how each of the cast played their roles. There are sections focused on Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd), The Thing (Michael Chiklis), Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba), Human Torch (Chris Evans), Dr. Doom (Julian McMahon) and Alicia Masters (Kerry Washington).

Besides photos, the book also has storyboards, concept drawings and panels from the original FANTASTIC FOUR comic books.

The thing I liked best was how the screenplay was spread over the course of the second half of this book with various articles focusing on different aspects of production. It could be a challenge if you don’t want the flow of the screenplay interrupted, but I found that it helped bring energy to the process of reading.
