G-3 Live in Tokyo Epic Music Video 2006 Joe Satriani |
|
| John Petrucci blazes a trail of heavy,
progressive shred during "Glasgow Kiss" and "Damage Control". Fans of
Dream Theater will be thrilled to see Mike Portnoy on drums, and Dixie Dreggs
bassist Dave LaRue. Steve Vai is next, and gives his normal, flamboyant rock star performance, which it totally deserves. Vais band is outstanding with Tony McAlpine on guitar and keyboard, Billy Sheehan on bass, Dahlis Dilemmas drummer Jeremy Colson and rhythm guitarist Dave Weiner. Vai performs, "the Audience is Listening", "Building the Church" and "KM-Pee-Du-Wee". Joe Satriani could also be called "Mr. Cool", because of the way he plays so effortlessly, always wearing reflective sunglasses and a little fashionable hat. Satch grooves through "Up in Flames", "Searching" and "War" with bandmates Jeff Campitelli on drums, bassist Matt Bissonette and Galen Henson playing additional guitars. As always, the G-3 finale consists of all 3 guitarists playing together in a massive jam session. The guys play Jimi Hendrixs "Foxy Lady", ZZ Tops "La Grange" and Deep Purples "Smoke on the Water". Bonus features include watching the G-3 soundcheck, with 3 individual audio commentary tracks by Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and John Petrucci. Beautiful visual picture, and exceptional audio together with 3 of the finest guitar players ever, G-3 LIVE IN TOKYO rocks the Casbah. www.epicrecords.com |
