Gargoyles Music by Neal Acree Promotional - 2004 |
|
| Majestic and commanding, Neal Acree has made a
rich gothic score for the Sci-Fi Channel movie. However good this movie is, it cant
be as good as the score. First he takes you back to "Romania, 1532." Choir voices sing out with the orchestra to put you back in time where the evil winged creatures originated. The heavenly voices usher in "Main Title" and are combined with a big organ sound. On the other hand, little percussive sounds are used to create a "Hostage Situation." Acree kicks "The Chase Is On" into overdrive using hard-charging orchestra topped with huge drums and percussion. The keyboard and guitar work together to push the tracks melody. "The Crypt" and "Alone In The Church" are quietly intense using ambience to build tautness. You get a little breather with "The Zoo", then thunder & lightning strike with "Lex The Slayer." Acree updates the electronic sound Tangerine Dream made famous with hot percussion and orchestral highlights. I love the way Acree brings the choir into "Roof Top Showdown." The male and female voices really put a charge into the eleventh track. "Gargoyles 101" is a beautiful orchestral rendition of the main theme from GARGOYLES. The orchestra and choir team up for "Monastery Shootout" and "Mountain Chase." The slow building dreamlike quality of "Bodesti Finds The Nest" carries a lot of power. "To Rule On Earth" has almost a military feel. Marching drums, voices of doom and orchestra collide in "Hell Is Coming To Us." Neal Acree brings life to the little Gargoyles as "The Eggs Hatch!" Neal Acree wraps up GARGOYLES with the "End Credits." |
