Green Isaac Etnotronica Spotted Peccary 2004 Etnotronica is an absolute joy to listen to. It has musical texture and moods shift from deep introspective to utter exaltation. With that kind of range of emotion the CD produces, it will become one of the albums youll repeatedly play. Green Isaac is made up two extremely creative musicians, Andreas Eriksen and Morten Lund. |

| The female vocals in "Siamese Drum"
reminded me of Kate Bush. The percussive loops of "Ahab" had me hypnotized. The
percussive elements of "Dr. Talks Bagpipe" are used in a way almost like a
Tangerine Dream uses keyboards, building layer upon layer towards a final audio goal. "Ambino" is mesmerizing. There is this hypnotic, dreamy keyboard line or reversed guitar part (as per linear notes) that repeats throughout the track that you will not be able to shake. Green Isaac encompasses this rhythm with a cello crying, African drums and a high register bug-like sounding keyboard part that is just amazing. Cello, e-bow, el-pno and distortion play off the beat of congas, bongo, and percvelo to make "Subman." "Goodbye Mr. Kernel" is a minute and a half of cello, Wurlitzer and congas. Morten Lunds hypnotic guitar ushers in "New Shoes" which reminded me of the theme for the TV show NIP TUCK. Andreas Eriksen adds shakers, nordbass, wave-udu and bass drum strategies to the eleventh track. The last track on the album "Tubescontoo" has a real cool clean guitar sound and I love when the percussion kicks into another gear toward the end of the song. Andreas Eriksen and Morten Lund have made an exceptional album with ETNORTRONICA. |
