25th Anniversary Edition Anchor Bay 2003 Directed by John Carpenter Starring |
|
| Anchor Bay Entertainment has
done it again; they have created a new eye-catching HD widescreen transfer of this
landmark film. HALLOWEEN looks spectacular in this Divimax Series format. I also loved the
DVD menus for every page and the famous John Carpenter music that backs it. The photos
chosen are animated beautifully and any horror fan would be proud of owning this DVD. For my review of the movie, please click on my previous review of HALLOWEEN. Now to talk about this 25th Anniversary Edition has as far as extras. Halloween A Cut Above The Rest knocked me out. It is eighty-seven minutes of brilliantly edited HALLOWEEN cast & crew interviews, behind the scenes footage and photos not found anywhere else. I was startled to see some of the great on the set footage and the photos pretty much mesmerized me. If youve been to this site before or know me, you know that HALLOWEEN basically changed my life. I got goosebumps and my blood pumped as I just ate up all the information jammed into this superb documentary. On Location 25 Years Later is hosted by P.J. Soles and Debra Hill returning to the places where the film was originally shot. It is fascinating comparing how the locations have changed. Any HALLOWEEN fan will hold this new feature close to their heart. The original laserdisc commentary by Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis and Hill is included as it should be. If you havent listened to it, it would be wise to do so. The unforgettable trailer, TV Spots, Radio Spots, Poster and Still Gallery are worth every second checking them out. It was these ads that first grabbed me as a kid and I will admit even scared me. The original screenplay and Screen Savers are available in DVD-ROM format. Hurrah for Anchor Bay! |
