| Clive Barker’s nightmare inducing world of
Cenobites and the ringleader Pinhead are captured in glorious color photos and this cool
coffee table paperback. There is some text provided by Barker and Stephen Jones covering
the first three HELLRAISER films, but the real treat of this book is the images. THE HELLRAISER CHRONICLES was originally put out in the early 90s and was out of print until Titan Books decided to reissue it. I’m glad they did because we get to see the horrific creations Clive Barker and Bob Keen created up close. It’s amazing how much of a transformation the mild mannered, slimly built Doug Bradley goes through to become Pinhead. We learn how Pinhead came to be and how Barker, Keen and Bradley have tried to develop the character to tell his story. The other characters that are part of the HELLRAISER are all on photo display and each actor is given photo coverage. This will not disappoint any fan of the beautiful Ashley Laurence. This is a book that any horror fan would proudly keep on display and would be the perfect thing to have at a Halloween party. |
