Jaws
Log 25th Anniversary Edition Written by Carl Gottlieb New
Market Press - 2001 |
|
| The biggest selling "making of" book of
all-time and the only book ever written about how Steven Spielbergs JAWS was made is
essential to read. Gottlieb recounts first hand how the first true Hollywood Blockbuster
came together and the fascinating difficulties the cast and crew endured while making the
classic. Gottlieb goes back to the films inception, beginning with producers purchasing the rights to Peter Benchleys book, which shortly thereafter become a bestseller and how Steven Spielberg came aboard to make the film. Its really a magical story that should lift your spirits and motivate you to do something that you felt probably wasnt possible before. Gottlieb doesnt back away from telling the honest truth of what happened on Marthas Vineyard and does it in a dramatic, yet always humorous way that will inspire and tickle your funny bone at the same time. This is a journalistic accomplishment rarely found in fiction and of course it happened for real. When you learn of all the trials and tribulations presented by working on a small island and out on the ocean, you will truly wonder how they pulled it off. JAWS has legions of fans worldwide who admire the film but you dont even have to be one of those folks to completely enjoy Gottliebs account. Id go to your local bookstore to purchase this book or visit the website for New Market Press to get it online. |
