Lynch LP Pilson
Wicked Underground Spitfire Records 2003 |
|
| When the
news broke that Jeff Pilson and George Lynch were going to work together on a new project,
fans around the globe rejoiced. This is because these are the two guys who fueled what was
great about 80s melodic power band Dokken. Just watch Dokkens UNCHAIN THE
NIGHT video, which chronicled the band to will prove this. But enough about Dokken, lets
move on to better things, specifically this CD. Lynch & Pilson have created twelve songs, which individually stand up to any rock fans standard. What is really awesome is none of the tracks sound like they were written to meet any trend criteria. Instead Pilson and Lynch let things fly naturally and the results prove these two guys are top-flight musicians and true songwriters. Jeff could always sing. Here his voice shines with honesty and power. I really like the lyrical content of each song, which cover a vast array of subject matter and show what LP are interested in today. The most impressive thing is the balance of each song. Lynch and Pilson never let the music or lyrics overpower the songs. Each aspect works together in unison to give you completeness found missing in most music today. |
