Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way
Written by Bruce Campbell

Thomas Dunne Books / St. Martin’s Press – 2005
ISBN 0-312-31260-1
$320 pages, $23.95

EVIL DEAD star Bruce Campbell has written his second book. This time he has written a novel that tells the story of Campbell’s attempt to become an "A" list actor. The book reads fast and is a wild, entertaining read.

Campbell imagines himself being cast in a Mike Nichols film called "Let’s Make Love." He is cast as a doorman named Foyl Hightower opposite Richard Gere and Renee Zellwegger. Wanting to do a good job in the role, he goes on a quest to learn all the skills he would need to play the doorman character. This takes Campbell all over the country on a wild goose chase to become the role. Things never turn out like Campbell plans, leading to self-depreciating humor and slapstick action that would make the Three Stooges smile.

You’re sure to laugh many times throughout the book with Campbell’s zany mind, wacky dialogue and absurd, yet somewhat realistic situations. There is many times that you will ask yourself how much of this fictional novel is based on Bruce Campbell’s life.

MAKE LOVE THE BRUCE CAMPBELL WAY doesn’t take too much concentration to imagine and it’s a good way to lighten things up for a bit while you go about the hectic, busy challenges of life.
