TVT Soundtrax – 2004

The first four tracks of this CD; "Isa Lei", "Ni Sa Bula" "Hill & Gully Ride; Mandeville Road" and "Lakonmet Dance" are representative of the location of where this film takes place. Each one of these songs celebrates the heritage of the Bahamas and sets up an initial positive, fun atmosphere. "That Glad Reunion Day" is kind of a raw country western tune.

Swain Family performs an odd religious tune "Jesus Promised Me A Home Over There." I don’t know for sure because I still haven’t seen this film, "I Ain’t Got Long" probably is summarizing the characters time left to live. "Yendisare Aimando" is another religious type song with lots of voices singing out.

The CD tonality changes as the real score starts (track 9). Veteran composer Graeme Revell (DEAD CALM, THE CROW, BELOW) brings incredibly simple, yet powerfully spooky music to the film beginning with "Main Title Overlay." "The Dive Begins" is not as dark.

Yoav Goren & Jeff Fayman create "The Nest (Dive Boat Leaves The Site)" which is heavy, airy and intense.

Revell finishes off the soundtrack strong with the last four tracks. "Cleaner Fish" sounds like putting yourself in the ocean and being surrounded by massive dark water. Revell heightens the danger with "Sharks Close." Revell surprisingly builds up the 48 seconds that are "Finding the Dive Bag On the Boat." We finish on a somber note "Sharks Circle." The CD is short in length but does carry impact.
