Nitrate Visions – 2002
The music from this CD sends electrical impulses to the brain which ignite a film like presentation of images. Scott Rockenfield best known as the drummer from Queensryche, has composed, arranged and performed this musical voyage. It’s not at all an outlet for Rockenfield to just pound away on drums. Instead it’s a project focused on obtaining mood and atmosphere and ultimately telling a story with multiple musical instruments. Scott captures an orchestral palate of sound and integrates it with energy and creativity. It has the best qualities found on any Pink Floyd album but is actually closer to a movie soundtrack. I can’t imagine Rockenfield not getting film work after this CD release. It really does show Rockenfield’s grasp of creating dramatic music and his dexterity as a musician. I won’t actually speak about the individual songs because this CD is all about the entire album. It’s a pleasant experience that takes you through a spiraling tunnel of mystery, intrigue and passion. You can tell through this music that Scott Rockenfield is a man who lives with dreams, loves others and is reaching for a higher plane. Join him on the ride. www.rockenfieldmusic.com
