The piano in “Keep Em Waitin” played by Travis North, adds a whole new dimension the band. This piano provides a cinematic feel and gives the band a progressive touch. I also love the dual vocal interplay in this tune. The guitars also move into cool territory without heavy distortion to provide texture. The guitar sound in “Bite 2 Kill” is nasty and pushes the song with toughness. The drum work and bass also hold great importance in this track. Travis North tells a story of being “All Alone” on the fourth track. The vocalist has nice interplay with the instrumentation, especially vocalizing with the drum work. I like the way the vocals are mixed in this song. An audio clip brings in “Amsterdam” and then the guitars take it from there. The guitar parts are distinctly separate and yet together make the fifth tune sound cool. There is something good happening with the six song on both albums the band has made. They seem to have the same positive karma Steve Vai has had with the seventh song on his albums. “3 Days” begins with a cool atmospheric guitar leading into ripping rhythm as the vocals go between normal singing and whispering at times. The peaks and valleys of this tune are fantastic! The guitar distortion tonality honestly kicks ass. The audio mix of the guitars dropping back throughout the tune also opens up for big bass lines and drums. “Took To Long” has almost a Kings X feel with little guitar parts feeding off North’s lead vocals. In my opinion “My Name” should be the band’s first single. The song takes no prisoners and establishes the band as a hard-hitting band that will rock you. The drums pound the beat as the guitars fire away blasts of sound. North’s voice is mixed with diversity and power. This is an awesome tune. The band catches a punk groove in “Dirty Secrets” and it could argued this could be one of the best choices for a single because it’s unpredictable and fun. Treat yourself to a piece of the rock Soul Sychedelics provides on Bite To Kill. Best hard rocking album I’ve heard so far in 2008.
