Music by Jared Depasquale

Depasquale Enterprises – 2001
Jared Depasquale brings it! From the opening track "Hallow’s End High" this composer goes for the jugular. Aggressive percussion mixed with a stabbing orchestra puts you right into the intensity of THE FRIGHTENING.

"The Not-So-In-Crowd" has the feel of something hip like SCREAM. "The Key Club" is a vicious little composition. Depasquale lets the tension build gradually in grand orchestral fashion in "The Hallway", "Hallow’s Legend" showing a mature touch for a young composer.

"Corey’s Lament", "The Coffee Shop Killers", "Why Don’t I Believe You?" shows off Depasquale’s grasp of melody.

"Cowboy Rides His Last…" has a real classical suspense feel. Eventually this track explodes with screaming horns and modern percussion effects. "Walking Beth" has beautiful piano. Depasquale makes the most of making even the short little tracks (under a minute) "Count To Five" and "Strangled."

Somberness is beautiful in "The Problem With Life."

The last three cues make statements that Jared Depasquale is a top-flight composer deserving to work on a high level of film scoring. "Into The School/Perry’s Soliloquy" begins with aggressive scoring that changes to mystery and finally sensitivity. "Revelation" goes back and fourth between hard musical punctuation and delicate underscoring. "End Titles" combines a little bit of the entire score. It even has the feel of Danny Elfman at one point. I think it’s the quieter more lush moments that probably stand out the most and show that Depasquale has a real talent for melody.
