The Uninvited – Music by Christopher Young

Lakeshore Records – 2009

Classy score with gorgeous orchestra performance and elegant choir work provided by Yale Women's Slavic Chorus.  There is also beautiful child vocal solo by Sara Niemietz.  Christopher Young has crafted music that fits with other supernatural scores such as THE OTHERS and THE SIXTH SENSE.

This score is designed for overall atmosphere and the underlining emotions within the film.  This isn't a soundtrack that jumps out to spook, though it does have some intense cues like "I'm At A Party" and "Bloody Milk."  It's got a higher purpose and you'll be rewarded for picking this CD up and checking it out.  You'll find yourself loving the themes, as you get lost in the melody.

I found myself really appreciating the subdued suspense cues like "Terror On The Water" and "Twin Nightmares."  There's a section within "Cry For love" where the sustained voices and orchestra reminded me of the the tense music in CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND.
